Notice the Details

One of the most amazing parts of being a photographer is learning to notice the details. To see how seemingly little accents are critical to telling your story. Wedding photographers know this well. They always capture the details: The invitations. The shoes. The rings. The place cards. The table settings. And on and on and on.

People who photograph their families (I’m talking to you, moms and dads!) need to remember that as well. Sometimes the most powerful photographs — the ones that evoke the most wonderful memories — are not the ones of the child bouncing happy. Are not the ones of the obvious. But instead are the ones that represent something bigger.

This image, to me, is childhood.

Remember to look for the details. You’ll love those pictures in 15 years when you can’t believe those size 13 feet used to fit in those tiny shoes.

As always, we at Pollack Photography are focused on you.
