Students and Teachers

A conversation between my daughter, L, and myself:

Me: L, will you be a model for me for a photography class?

L: Of course, Mom! I would love to!

Me: Thanks! It’s really important that you see me as the photographer and not your mom.

L: Definitely.

Me: Because I’m trying to learn as much as I can from this photographer.

L: Wait. You’re not the teacher?

And, of course, there was the opportunity to tell her all about the fact that we’re all students! One of the greatest things about being a photographer is that there is always so much to learn. So, keep learning! Take those classes. Try different kinds of classes: on-line, in groups, in person, one-on-one, all of them! Each will give you a different perspective, a different set of knowledge, a different inspiration. And even if you only learn one or two things, it’s worth it. Remember… this is a marathon, not a sprint.

As always, we at Pollack Photography are focused on you.
